Sensex, Nifty extend their consecutive wins for the third week, aided by IT and real estate stocks.

Indian Markets

Equity Benchmark Indices logged gains aided by I.T., Realty Stocks. S&P BSE Sensex grew 1.6% to 55,769.23 in the week ending June3rd, while the NSE Nifty50 grew 1.4% to 16,584.30.

On the sectoral front, only NiftyRealty (+4.90%), NiftyIT (+4.41%), NiftyMedia (+3.59%), NiftyPSUBank (+2.43%), NiftyMetal (+2.25%), outperformed the NSE Nifty50 index and NiftyAuto (+0.11%), NiftyFMCG (+0.08%), NiftyBank (-0.95%), NiftyPharma (-1.98%), underperformed the index.

The India VIX was -7.0% to 19.98.

News Update

3M India: On the consolidated basis, the company has reported a rise of 57.40% in its net profit at Rs 110.92 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 70.47 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company increased by 12.04% at Rs 934.81 crore for Q4FY22 as compared Rs 834.38 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

TTK Prestige: On the consolidated basis, the company has reported a fall of 5.56% in its net profit at Rs 80.61 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 85.36 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the company increased by 16.41% at Rs 710.88 crore for Q4FY22 as compared Rs 610.66 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

Mahindra & Mahindra: On the consolidated basis, the company has reported a rise of 59.53% in its net profit at Rs 2608.13 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 1634.85 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company increased by 20.42% at Rs 26215.47 crore for Q4FY22 as compared Rs 21770.81 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC): On the consolidated basis, the company has reported a rise of 10.02% in its net profit at Rs 12,061.44 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 10,963.04 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company increased by 34.25% at Rs 158,648.42 crore for Q4FY22 as compared Rs 118,171.45 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

Jubilant FoodWorks: On the consolidated basis, the company has reported a fall of 8.82% in its net profit at Rs 96.01 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 105.30 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the company increased by 13.12% at Rs 1,188.61 crore for Q4FY22 as compared Rs 1,050.78 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

Hikal: The company has reported a fall of 59.23% in its net profit at Rs 20.76 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 50.92 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company decreased by 6.11% at Rs 502.62 crore for Q4FY22 as compared Rs 535.33 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

Forbes & Company: Company has received an approval for sale of 25% equity and preference shareholding of the Company in Shapoorji Pallonji Forbes Shipping (SPFSL) to GS Enterprises, a Partnership firm and a related party for a Consideration of Rs 29 crores. The definitive Agreement is expected to be executed in Q1 of FY 2022-23 and the Proposed Transaction is expected to be completed in Q2 of FY 2022-23.

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC): The company has reported 2-fold jump in its net profit after tax from continuing operations at Rs 213.78 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 103.79 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company increased by 2-fold at Rs 716.79 crore for Q4FY22 as compared Rs 358.25 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC): On the consolidated basis, the company has reported a fall of 17.41% in its net profit at Rs 2,409.40 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 2,917.34 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the company increased by 11.64% at Rs 212,230.41 crore for Q4FY22 as compared Rs 190,098.65 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

Gail India: Company has planned to invest Rs 6,000 crore in the next three years in renewables. The investment can go up by an additional Rs 20,000 crore by 2030. The company, which reported a 112 per cent jump in FY22 post-tax net profit at Rs 10,364 crore, has outlined an overall capital expenditure plan of up to Rs 40,000 crore in the next five years, which will cover a wide array of areas.

Fortis Healthcare: Company is planning to add around 1,500 new beds to its network to take the total to around 5,000 beds in the next three years. The company has also lined up a capex of Rs 400 crore for the ongoing fiscal which will be divided equally on maintenance and growth programmes.

VST Tillers Tractors: Company has sold 3628 units during May 2022 as compared to 2661 units in May 2021, a rise of 36.34% YoY. The company has sold 3037 power tillers in May 2022 as against 2061 in May 2021, registering a rise of 47.36% growth YoY. The company has sold 591 tractors during May 2022, as compared to 600 in May 2021, registering a fall of 1.50% YoY.

Coal India: coal production has increased by 30% to 54.7 million tonnes (MT) in May 2022 as against 42.1 MT in May 2021. The company’s production in the April- May 2022 period increased 28.8 per cent to 108.2 MT, compared with 84 MT in the year-ago period.

Maruti Suzuki India: Company has sold a total of 161,413 units in May 2022. Total sales in the month include domestic sales of 128,000 units, sales to other OEM of 6,222 units and its highest ever monthly exports of 27,191 units. Sales of mini cars, comprising Alto and S-Presso, stood at 17,408 units last month. It stood at 4,760 in the same month last year. Sales in the compact segment, including models such as Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno and Dzire, was at 67,947 units in May this year. In the corresponding period last year it was at 20,343 units. Sales of mid-size sedan Ciaz stood at 586 units in the period under review. It stood at 349 units in May 2021.

TVS Motor: Company has registered sales of 302,982 units in May 2022. The year-on-year growth is not comparable due to the low base of sales in May 2021 because of the localised lockdown imposed by the Government of India during that period. Total two-wheelers sales grew from 154,416 units in May 2021 to 287,058 units in May 2022. Domestic two-wheeler sales grew from 52,084 units in May 2021 to 191,482 units in May 2022. Motorcycle sales grew from 125,188 units in May 2021 to 148,560 units in May 2022. Scooter sales of the Company grew from 19,627 units in May 2021 to 100,665 units in May 2022.

Aurobindo Pharma: On the consolidated basis, the company has reported a fall of 28.09% in its net profit at Rs 576.14 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 801.18 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company decreased by 3.64% at Rs 5,858.25 crore for Q4FY22 as compared Rs 6,079.60 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

Tata Power: TP Central Odisha Distribution (TPCODL), a joint venture between Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, has completed two years of its successful operations in Odisha. In its first two years, TPCODL has extensively leveraged technology for reliable power supply. The company has kept its prime focus on customer centricity, network augmentation, safety and infrastructure refurbishment for improvement of the overall scenario in electricity distribution in its licensed area of operations.
