US Market Recap
US stocks rebounded as attractive valuations and strong corporate earnings encouraged bargain buying after the recent selloff. The S&P 500 snapped a three-day losing streak, while Dell Technologies surged 16% following a strong outlook. Easing concerns over a prolonged Middle East conflict also helped improve sentiment and reduced fears of sustained energy-driven inflation and tighter Federal Reserve policy. The S&P 500 gained 0.5%, Dow Jones rose 0.6%, Nasdaq 100 advanced 0.2%, and MSCI World Index increased 0.2%.
Asian Market Update
Asian equities opened higher after US President Donald Trump played down the possibility of a prolonged conflict with Iran. Oil prices also eased after a three-day rally, supporting risk sentiment. Japan and South Korea led regional gains, lifting the MSCI Asia Pacific index by 0.4%. Hang Seng futures rose 0.5%, while Japan’s Topix gained 0.6%. The yen’s sharp appreciation, however, kept traders alert to possible intervention by Japanese authorities.
Commodity Check
Crude oil prices steadied after a three-day rally as Trump indicated that renewed attacks on Iran could be short-lived, while US officials signalled continued energy flows through the Strait of Hormuz. Brent crude traded near $95 a barrel after rising more than 8% over the past three sessions, while WTI remained below $91. Gold held its gains as concerns over prolonged Middle East tensions and energy-driven inflation eased. Bullion traded around $4,385 an ounce after rising 1% in the previous session and snapping a three-day decline. Spot gold gained 0.1% to $4,386.94 an ounce, while silver rose 0.1% to $65.38.
