India Market Recap
Indian equity benchmarks ended higher on Monday, supported by a decline in crude oil prices and easing concerns over further Federal Reserve tightening at its October meeting. The Sensex gained 472.77 points, or 0.66%, to close at 72,382.47, while the Nifty 50 advanced 133.80 points, or 0.60%, to 22,555.75. US Market Recap
US equities traded mixed on Monday as investors monitored Treasury yields and crude oil prices ahead of the release of the Federal Reserve’s September meeting minutes later this week. The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.17%, or 90.10 points, while the S&P 500 gained 0.17%, or 13.01 points. The Nasdaq 100 outperformed, advancing 0.39%, or 105.28 points. Asian Market Update
Asian markets were mixed on Tuesday. Japan’s Nikkei 225 gained 0.22%, while South Korea’s Kospi traded marginally lower. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 advanced 0.32%. Investors remained cautious ahead of further signals on US monetary policy, while movements in crude oil prices continued to influence regional sentiment.
Commodity Check
Brent crude prices were largely unchanged on Tuesday, trading near the $100-per-barrel mark as higher Middle East crude exports and the planned release of emergency oil stocks by G7 nations eased immediate supply concerns. However, the potential for further damage to Gulf energy infrastructure amid the ongoing US-Israel conflict with Iran continued to limit the downside. Brent was last trading flat at $100.35 per barrel, after falling 1.9% on Monday to settle at $100.32. WTI declined 1.8% to $89.43 per barrel. Oil prices have given up most of their gains from the previous week after G7 nations agreed to release 100 million barrels of crude and diesel from emergency reserves and pledged to avoid energy export restrictions.
