South Korea’s Kospi rose 0.30%, although the Kosdaq fell 1.08%. Hong Kong futures indicated a positive opening. However, uncertainty surrounding the US-Iran peace negotiations continues to keep investors cautious.
Commodity Check
Crude oil prices extended their decline for the third consecutive session as Iran and Oman progressed discussions on a framework to restore shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Brent crude fell below $87 per barrel, bringing its weekly decline to around 8%, while WTI traded near $81. The proposed temporary maritime corridor could ease supply concerns, although crude prices remain more than 40% higher this year due to ongoing disruptions in energy flows.
